PCOS and Acne

I was told I had PCOS a few years ago after a scan on my ovaries. Only symptoms I had were acne and irregular periods. I am getting married next year and am planning on starting a family soon after but my biggest fear is the acne coming back (it really got me down before going on the pill which cleared it up amazingly)

I wanted to try and come off the pill a while before trying to get pregnant in order to help my body get back into a more ‘natural cycle’ (if that’s even a thing!) hence why I am trying to pre plan.

Does anyone have any tips, natural remedies or medication (other than the pill) which they have found helped their PCOS related acne? Thanks in advance. X

Hey, I’ve also got pcos and acne and have tried quite a few medications. Started off with some topical creams and now oral antibiotics. I’m currently using epiduo and trimethoprim. How severe is your acne?

I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 19. I am 41 now and although my skin isnt too bad I suffered in the past, mainly around my mouth and on my neck which is hormonal. I sudied beauty tgerapy and got into the habit of cleansing, toning and I always moisturise & found my skin to improve. One of my biggest problems was hair thinning and hair loss due to the build up of testosterone which pcos produces in excess. I have read alot on the subject and now have my hair loss under control. My hair is the best its ever been in yrs. The secret is pcos is a hormonal imbalance which causes the body to respond in a number of ways & there isnt much out there for the treatment of pcos. I know that vitamin B6 is essential for regulating hormone imbalances & so I take a vit B complex of 50mg tablets each day. This has all the essential B vitamins in it including B12 fror healthy cell renewal etc. The 50 mg ensures u get a good dose of this much needed vitamin as over the counter dnt offer as much and having a hormone imbalance id say a little more is needed. I also use planture shampoo with dht blockers which stops testosterone build up as well as two types of hair vitamins Go on natures best.com. They do vitamins for every ailment and give advice on each one. The best tip I can give you is to use a face wash for oily to combination skin, witch hazel for toning and the normal nivea cream in blue tub for deep moisturising, remove make up before bed, take a vitamin b complex and maybe a vitamin for pms, check out premit on natures best. These vits are all natural products and so much better than over the counter. Im a really big believer in natural remedies so good luck. ❤
