I have just been diagnosed with PCOS 3 weeks ago and have been put on Metaformin and Iron Tablets to help me conceive.
I am desperate for a family and want to conceive soon. After 7 months of trying and no periods I have just finished my first period so I’m taking that as good news.
Does anyone have any advice on how to track ovulation or how to conceive with PCOS???
Thanks! xxx

fertilityfriends is good for ovulation checker as it shows the signs to look for too. Don't concentrate too much on a period as you can ovulate without one and having one doesn't mean you are ovulating (which was me).
You should be referred after 6 months because of pcos - has your partner been tested yet as 1/3 of fertility issues are men?
Were you tested for insulin resistance prior to being put on metformin as it is primarily a diabetes drug, some pcos ladies can be insulin resistant thought so can help them.
Hi Thankyou for your support!! & no I was not tested for that but the doctor explained that Metaformin is for Diabetes but said it helps ovulation???xx
mmm differing opinions on that as well - often it can cause weight loss which can cause your periods to return but sadly it doesn't mean you are ovulating necessarily
As mentioned below, fertility friend is good but it can only confirm ovulation with your temperature shift. If you’re like me though, this can be tricky. I have the “Rocky Mountains” effect which can make it harder to interpret my graph. It can give you a better idea of patterns in your cycle though and when best to use an opk.
I’ve also been put on metformin with no other testing and not noticed any difference in anything yet.
Have you had an hsg test dine? That checks your tubes aren’t blocked. If your partner can be tested too I’d recommend that, they can then start to tailor your support as a couple. For us it is both of us with one issue or another so we’ve been recommended for ivf. Need to get my bmi down first, but the support is being offered to us. And ivf success rates are almost 1 in 2!
Good luck with everything! Hope something clicks soon!
