PCOS and depression

Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, and have since had a diagnosis of depression. I receive treatment for my depression, and I've previously had Metformin and spironolactone, neither of which helped me. The specialist has said there's nothing else they can do for me, and have discharged me. Feeling very hopeless and have low self esteem as I can't seem to shift any weight, and even when I did in the past, my symptoms didn't improve. How does everyone else manage to cope with PCOS and all the symptoms it brings?

Hi Greyeye,

I am am up and down with it!

Sorry the specialist wasn't able to help you.

I only get on top of pcos sometimes. And have had periods of depression, although never really spoken to anyone about it.

Losing weight never seems to lesson my symptoms either.

Apart from when I made myself really skinny size 6, think my chin hair went but didn't know about pcos then so wasn't looking out for changes. Couldn't carry on like that anyway, I wasn't eating!

The pill helps with symptoms,

Are you on the pill?

Sometimes I except pcos, and eat the right foods for it, it's hard so I generally don't keep to it. Especially when I get down.

At the moment I am trying again.

Hope you feel better soon.
