Black hair growth is normal with PCOS. It's caused by male hormone called an androgen I think. It'll grow in all the places men experience hair growth. Not pleasant, no. I've had lazer hair treatment (not IPL) and that got rid of it.
Yeah. Some women get it on their backs too or at the base of their spine. Chins, side burns etc are all common areas. Sad hey? Get it lazered if it's stressing you out.
Laser worked for me on my face too - best thing I ever did, expensive but worth it, but you do need to maintain it for life as laser is not permanent sadly. I havent been for 3 years now but need a top up as a few hairs are sprouting on my goaty area again!!
Have you been diagnosed with pcos and also with diabetes ?
Weight gain can make pcos symptoms worse so yes the hair growth can increase. The combined contraceptive can control the pcos symptoms pretty well and can help with weight loss as well (it is still quite slow though!)
