Hi,
I made another chocolate and courgette cake today.
I soaked dates in hot water and added them instead of adding sugar. I thought it might become too dense but it was spongy and delicious so I would do that again.

Ooh Ali, what a fantastic idea and it looks delicious. Dates are fantastic for cooking and what an excellent idea using as the sweetener in your cake. I'm looking forward to seeing you in Bake Off next year, you could really show them how luscious a Vegan diet is.😋

I hope they do have a Vegan week, that would be fab. They don't seem to realise you can make beautiful foid without dairy and eggs.

I know it’s frustrating and it seems so old fashioned to me that they are still using cows milk and eggs etc. It’s like Jamie Oliver and his new programme on vegetarian food. I wish he was showing people how easy it can be to cook vegan food. 😊🌱
Yes you are right. There's loads of cakes/biscuits that are Vegan that taste just as good or even better than those with eggs and butter.
Yes it would be good if Jamie Oliver would have a programme on Vegan food.
