I don't advocate a flexitarian diet because what I think we all need is a serious dose of nutrition. However anything that moves people to reduce their meat, dair, fish & egg consumption, given the plethora of chronic illnesses associated with it, must be good for their health. So livekindly is now reporting livekindly.co/91-brits-vegg... that already 91% of brits shopping at Sainsburys are experiencing non-meat products. Since this is the case they are now swapping out part of their meat aisle for meat-alterntive foods.

If everyone had to pay the actual cost of animal products instead of subsidized costs, this shift would be almost immediate.

If I remember properly, take away the subsidy, and a McDonalds burger would cost around £15.
