Very interesting Jerry... These were the results when I did it recently which is 40 plus, which goes to show how being plant based how quickly the amount of vegetables, nuts, pulses etc you eat quickly adds up ππ± even I was surprised at how many there were.π
Potatoes, swede, carrots, peas, kale, mushrooms, red and white onions, leek, parsnips, beetroot, butternut squash, seaweed, lettuce, green pepper, red pepper, spinach, avocado, bean sprouts, cauliflower, brocolli, aubergine, tomatoes, chilli, garlic, root turmeric and ginger.
Chickpeas, black beans, puy Lentils, yellow lentils and cannellini beans.
Walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, almonds and pumpkin seeds
Grapes, tangerines, Figs, Asian pears, bananas, apples
Herbs and spices (corriander, star anise, cumin, turmeric, black pepper, Garam masala, basil, oregano).
I have the Dr Michael Greger "Daily Dozen " App on my phone. Following this keeps my plant based daily intake on track . It also reminds you of the importance of keeping hydrated , takinv exercise and supplements B12 and Vitamin D. Recently though I have stopped taking D as have subsequently seen reports that it may not be necessary even in winter months unless you are elderly. Am still undecided about this though so would be interested in anyone else's thoughts. If you haven't already used this App try it. It is free to download too.
Yes I have heard exactly the same. I know of a naturopath who says everyone should take vitamin D so I started taking them and then read it wasnβt necessary. So now also confused. I definately wouldnβt take it in the summer and I use it sparingly in the winter. π The app sounds good. Have you been using it for long? Ali ππ±
Ali, I have been using it for a few months now. It keeps me on track especially eating enough beans/legumes per day but I do find that the hardest part .
