I made these sugar free healthy brownies today. As you can see they are gooey in the middle and they are actually quite nice. Okay they don’t taste like regular brownies as they have no flour or sugar as they are sweetened with dates but they are certainly nice, very healthy and were easy to make. I wanted something with no sugar as we try to eliminate as much sugar as possible and also as I made them for my son. We will probably have them as a dessert tonight with a little coconut cream whipped with vanilla for a treat.
This is the link to the recipe. I made a few adjustment, I didn’t use baking powder as I didn’t have any and I added a few nuts to the batter. Also I used cacao powder instead of cocoa powder. I left them in the oven for an extra 10 mins as I thought they were too soft in the middle but they do firm up as they are cooling. I used six dates but if you want it sweeter just add more.
That’s nice. I’ll send you one in my thoughts. Actually, all that unpacking you’ve done recently, you deserve two! 😀
Ooh Ali, they look delicious and thank you so much for sharing the recipe, ones for me to make as well me thinks. I, like you, tend to use Cacao Powder rather than cocoa, I prefer it. I have a salted caramel recipe for brownies and will share that recipe when I make them, only if they turn out well of course and taste nice ;).
Ah thanks. Well just for experimental purposes you understand, I have been testing and tasting them as the day has gone on and unlike regular brownies which are nicer warm I think these are nicer once they are cold and have had time to sit. They are soft in the middle, kind of a bit raw but they are meant to be I think. I think you would like them. 😋
I have printed the recipe now ready to make. I agree with you as I made some brownies the other day, it was a recipe I shared some time last week, and when I first tried them they weren't long out of the oven and I wasn't sure. I took them in to work on Monday (it was a celebration because of my anniversary the day before hence taking goodies into work) and put them in the fridge, they were much nicer kept in the fridge. I would definitely like your's as I love a bit of goo - yummy yummy. You do make some amazing food Ali.
That’s so kind, thank you! Oh right. Well mine are on the side so I am going to pop them in the fridge right now. That means I’ll have to test them AGAIN when they have cooled in the fridge so I can compare. It’s a hard ol life! 😀
My black beans are in a carton and they say on the carton they are 380g or drained 230g so that’s quite a bit less than the recipe. I think that’s enough. My son loved them and he said they didn’t taste healthy and he had no idea they were made with black beans and I didn’t tell him! 🙂 (if you use a tin one would be enough).
