I've just been prescribed Lefflunomide as the Methotrexate is now not doing much for me. Has anyone been put on this and how did you tolerate it ok?

Grateful for any info. Thanks.

Hi BerkshireBird. I was on Leflunomide along with a low dose of prednisolone, for Rhuematoid Arthritis as couldnt tolerate Methotrexate. I was on it for a good number of years with no problems whatsoever. However when I was diagnosed with WG sept 2011 my consultant took me off leflunomide as the high dose of steroids ( along with cyclophosamide ) was enough to keep the arthritis pain away. Hope this helps you Take care X

Hi, I was given it for a short time a few years ago - I'd had a major flare and was just off cyclophosphomide and taking methotrexate and high dose steroids. Leflunomide was added to the mix but made no difference to me so was taken off it after a month or so. I didn't experience any nasty side effects.
