Rituximab - I may be prescribed this as Methotrexate does not seem as effective as previously. Any info/opinions?

Hi

Type Rituximab into the search box (top right) and scroll down the results where you'll find a number of threads relating to the use of this drug but in short, given a chance, go for it!

Healthy wishes.

If you can get funding for RTX then definately go for it, try and get the Addenbrooks protocol as that seems to be the best. One word of warning though, the infusions take about six hours so take plenty of interesting books/magazines/puzzles etc.

Many thanks for this. Everyone seems positive so far. Is RTX taken along with Methotrexate/Azathioprine or instead of, and are steroids always prescribed too?

Am in the middle of my 4th treatment , the difference has been incredible. I could not get the steriods down to below 20mg and now nearly down to 10mg. so things are so much better. So for me it has been worth it

Fairly new to this form of communication, so hope and assume you see my reply above. Thanks very much for your answer anyway. I am on Methotrexate currently and on sterioids only during flare-ups, which are getting more frequent, hence the possible change in medication.
