For the past six months I have been going to my dentist to have my teeth sorted and for most of that time I have been suffering with toothache. My dentist has taken x-ray's on four seperate occassions and he cannot find anything wrong with my teeth, he feels that due to the MPA the nerves in the teeth could be affected by the blood vessels that are attached to them. He is making an appointment at the hospital to see a dental surgeon to try to get to the bottom of it, Has anyone had any similer problems
Has anyone out there been suffering with too... - Vasculitis UK
Has anyone out there been suffering with toothache and headache's. Who has Vasculitis MPA or come to that any Vasculitis.
Hello. I was diagnosed with WG four years ago and my teeth have been very sensitive since then.
John has had problems with his teeth and the headaches..John has WG. Maybe talk this over with your consultant. John blames the WG for both...although I believe steroids can affect your gums.
Take care
Susan
Hi I was diagnosed with WG 3.5 years ado and the first symptoms I had was tooth ache. I made several trips to the dentist, had X-rays, head scans and fillings (whilst there was nothing wrog with my teeth). After that I saw another dentist and he said my teeth were healthy. Even when I was diagoned WG I wanted my teeth out I was in that much pain. Once on medication the pain went. The pain comes back when it's cold or when I get headaches. The problem is that you may have an infection in your Maxillary Sensors basically Sinusitis. The will produce inflamation around the teeth area putting pressure on the nerves in your gums. If it feels like you want to take your teeth out and brush them at the base then its probably the Maxillary sensor. I tend to go to the doctors and get antibiotics as being on Axathioprine I'm prone to infections.
Hope this helps

Hi i was diagnosed with MPA 4 years ago and amongst other things my teeth, gums, jaw and sinuses have been a constant problem since then, I've also suffered with very bad headaches. Since transferring from methotrexate to mycophenolate the discomfort and pain have been better, but my teeth and gums are still extremely sensitive and hurt every day. I had put it down to just another residual symptom of the WPA but was interested to see Susan's comment that steroids might affect the gums, as I am on them constantly.
All the best
Sandy
I have wg and fibromyalgia [fm], I've just learned that fm can cause toothache so it's possible that wg can too, maybe even as a referred pain.
