Kidney Involvement?

I've noticed over the course of the last few weeks that my urine output has increased substantially, that I sweat after meals and I'm up to the loo at least twice in the night.

Not trying to be paranoid (another symptom of vasculitis I think!) but having not experienced kidney issues before could this be an early warning sign?

Could it be your medication? I am the same, up a lot at night (every 2 hours) and I sometimes have incredible hot spells after a cup of tea in the evening. Urine and blood tests when I go to see the Rheumatologist show kidneys are fine. I have been like this for 2 years now and still going strong. (ish) I have MPA and I am on Azathioprine. I think they would pick up on any thing kidney wise when you have your regular blood tests.

Do you have a hospital helpline you could ask?

Join the club! I, too, am up in the night every 2 hours, lessening a bit the later on in the night it gets. Urine output has been substantially increased for about 7 years. Doesn't seem linked to meds, though. Body thermostat up the spout, too, especially difficult to cope with heat and I, too, break out in a sweat after eating or drinking occasionally.

Not sure if it is linked to kidney damage. I noticed many more symptoms than that when my kidneys became inflamed: pain in the groin, abdomen and waistline level of my back. Visible blood in the urine, too, though I am told by my specialist this is unusual. I also felt unwell, tired and slightly confused (more than normal!). Your consultant will be able to tell you much more, I am sure, and most likely put your mind at rest.

Good luck with the cyclo.

Just a thought Wellsie and not wishing to add to any problems you have, and i don,t know your age , but please get your P S A levels checked , It may be unrelated to your vasculitis, !!

apart from that I to have to go to the loo quite frequently during the night and deffinitely more during the day,and wonder where it all comes from, My rhuematologist did say if your retaining fluid due to the vasculitis or steroids it,s your bodys way of getting rid of it, hope thats of some help, but with vasculitis it could be one of many things.

Seems a bit young for P S A problems ( i bet that sounds good "bit young") but i know ,in men spending a penny frequently during the night it could be a sign, although many many of us go to the loo during the night so it could be any number of things , my policy is ,explore the avenues it could be ,( one less thing to worry about ) and then start on the less obvious ones.If you do get an answer i,m sure we would all be interested in hearing it.

Young! Perhaps. Kind of.

I can't stand the urgent toilet requirements and sweat and temperature bursts. The aching testicles (a l lovely symptom) and the gastric pain and sweat after every meal and drink. 3rd pulse on Tuesday; come on Team Cyclops.
