I have recently (6 months ago) been diagnosed with vasculitis and have found that I am getting runny eyes, is this to do with the condition.

i too have wg and have runny eyes my consultant said this was to do with the steroids andf the fact that they could cause diabetes and it changes the liquid in the eyes I have been recommended to use a tsp of baby shampoo in a cup of cooled boiled water and a cotton buds and wipe inside the upper and lower eyelid and to use artifical tears as the eye is over compensating and producing ecess liquid form other places rather than tear ducts hope this helps

I have had runny eyes for 3 years and was also told it was probably due to the steroids. In my case I was told that the tear ducts had blocked due to swelling. I've not been given the advice about the baby shampoo but have been given artificial tears and wear glasses with a uv filter which seems to help a great deal.

My husband has WG and has runny eyes but has only just his first appt at Addenbrookes, so it's yet to be treated.

I have had problems with runny eyes. I'm okay inside but when I go out they stream and I get rivulets down the front of my coat. I hadn't thought about it being due to the steroids. I will def ask about a uv filter when I get new glasses. Thanks for the tip.

One of the first 'signs' I had of vasculitis was eye problems....NOT recognised at the time though!! Only with benifit of hindsight. Don't know if this is any help.

Thought I would join in this discussion as I sometimes have runny eyes but never knew this was a symptom of Vasculitis!

Do they run when you are having a "flare"?

My husband has diabetes an suffers greatly from runny, itchy, sore eyes. But he wanted a more natural way of dealing with the problem.

On the web someone recommended that to alleviate sore eyes use 1 tsp of Manuka honey in 1/2 cup cooled boiled water and bathe the eyes with this twice a day. So far my husband says it's working. No soreness, itching or running!

I have saddle nose and my left tear duct is blocked so I have discharge from my left eye. it also cries tears - sometimes big, heavy, hot tears.

both eyes have always been sensitive to light and water &/or try to shut.

I recently bought "true colour" sunglasses from JML and they seem to be helpful.

My eyes are more sensitive to light since being on steroids, they run and take along time to adjust when i go out into the sun. I also get a lot of dry skin on my face and around my eyes, which sometimes makes them very itchy and I am told this is because of the steroids.

My wife has been recommended 'chamber glasses' for 'dry eye' which shows up by lots of tears and water eye. Her's is cause by Face Palsy and unable to blink. These give her confidence , protection, and reduce the 'dry eye' condition and hence less tears--awaiting delivery so will report back once she has tried them for a while. eyewear-accessories.co.uk/p...
