Has anyone had breathing issues while on high dose prednisalone,60-80mg and did the breathing issues continue when prednisalone was stopped?

Hi Johnnyboy. I had episodes when I was on doses of Pred 30mg-60mg I had episodes of being short of breath that lasted a few days. I have an inhaler because I suffer from hay fever but this wasn’t seasonal. These don’t happen now as I finished with pred 12 months ago.

Breathing issues may well be your underlying disease. If you are having difficulty breathing seek urgent medical help ideally from a vasculitis specialist.

That’s s very high dose , try and do gentle breathing exercises , just steady away 👍

Yes. For several reasons. First I got pneumonia - prednisolone made me more vulnerable to infections. Second it also gave me acid reflux. I didn’t realise but that can cause breathing problems if you inhale reflux. Then my GPA was causing breathing problems too because I was flaring. And all of this was very scary and upsetting, which made it worse. Doing gentle breathing exercises has really helped.
