Antiviral medication for Covid

Does anyone know how you access the antiviral medication to take at home if you have tested positive via a pcr for Covid 19 ? Not needed at the moment but just want to know in case it’s needed in the future. Is it via 119 ? Has anyone received it yet?

My OH has no antibodies for Covid as on RTX and MMF !!

With cases rising feel it’s only a matter of time before we may need to know this information, despite taking all precautions.

Thank you

Thank you for your link. I had thought that you would receive a letter from your consultant and or GP to enable you to access antivirals . Maybe I have interpreted it incorrectly.

You would have thought so, as it’s in collaboration with GP hubs, but to be brutally honest I don’t think they know whether they are on their head or their heels at the moment!

I would say try contacting GPs, but I think we can guess the answer.

Unfortunately yes I can. Try and avoid GP practice if at all possible .

Contact your GP or 111 ASAP. It must be given early in the illness.

If you're in Scotland see the previous post: healthunlocked.com/vasculit... . If your GP doesn't help phone your consultant team. Also bear in mind antibodies are only party of the immunity picture and the test is only a snap shot in time. Good luck.
