Hello. I had lung function tests carried out a few weeks ago and found the precautions taken very reassuring. The room was thoroughly cleaned and sealed before use and the staff had full PPE on. I hope this helps.
I also have EGPA & had a lung function test carried out at Addenbrooks Hospital a few weeks ago. I had to arrive close to the appointment time, very few people in the waiting room. I was issued with a mask to replace my own mask. All staff had PPE equipment & made you feel very at ease. The actual room where the tests were carried out are cleaned between appointments. Test no problem. Would recommend everyone there.
I’ve had two of these appointments this year. One in May and one this past week. The person had full ppe (respirator mask, gown and gloves, and a face shield).
Back in May he mentioned to me that they are leaving long gaps between appointments to allow the air to re-circulate in the room a certain number of times.
The mouth piece they used also had a filter in it and then because of the location of the room at my local hospital, he let me out of a side door so I didn’t have to walk back through the hospital.
I also have EGPA and I have had lung function tests recently at Addenbrookes and its all fine. Never felt in any danger. The room has special fans to extract air and PPE was worn. Not sure where your wife is going but if its Addenbrookes don't give it a second thought.Best
