This really encouraged my family. Who have been worrying about how people with vasculitis will survive covid 19. Excellent healthcare no doubt saved her.
Interesting that it needed a crisis to achieve a diagnosis. This was our experience too. Good work by the Royal Brompton and encouraging news for Vasculitis patients worried about covid
This shows how very amazing our nhs teams are. I was diagnosed with EGPA in the Royal Brompton when I went for a second opinion after my local treating hospital refused to accept that something other than severe asthma was causing my symptoms. The team at the Brompton were amazing and left no stone unturned an gave me the diagnosis really quickly an although not the best news was also a relief to finally find out what was wrong
Hooray for Royal Brompton. Got Anca Vasculitus but also Asthma, Bronchiectosis, COPD, Blood Clots, Osteoporosis, Lymphodiemia, Anaemia, and many more. Was being treated for locally for Anca ( Rutuximab etc) but for all the notice they were taking of my chest probs I might just as well had a vet treat me. God bless all at Royal Brompton- I thought I was a gonna but they pulled me back.! Not too bad now.
As stated on my earlier post on this site. I too was told I had COPD , and was treated for late Onset Asthma for 3 years, until I almost couldn't breathe at all, and was hospitalised at Frimley Park hospital in Surrey in January 2019
Only then after extensive tests was I diagnosed with Churg Strauss ( EGPA ).
But great to read about Angela's story, and I wish Angela and all EGPA sufferers the best for the future.
