Hi,

PIP is awarded on how you illness affects you, not for the disease itself. I hope some people will be along to give you their personal experiences. I have a different Vasculitis variant but have never applied for PIP as I don't meet the criteria despite being unable to work.

Hi Alanfern,

I don't have your particular form of Vasculitis, mine is PMR and GCA plus some other conditions which for me necessitated claiming. I can however, recommend that you don't fill in the paperwork yourself, as it can be too stressful admitting how much you can and cannot do yourself, as well as how much help you need. The Citizens Advice Bureau can help as well as a range of charities that support people with disabilities. I found it of benefit to use benefitsandwork.co.uk as they have a forum and guides to assist you in the process.

Hope this help. Love and healing energies.

Margaret

Alan, not sure if you are interested but John Mills is collecting stories from patients diagnosed with Churg Strauss Syndrome ( EGPA ) . John's email is john.mills&vasculitis.org.uk if you write to him , he can explain why.

Best wishes

Susan
