Hi Sandie. Yes there are doctors at the Hallamshire who treat vasculitis. There are at least three rheumatologist - Prof D Bax, Dr J Tait and Prof G Wilson. One of the members here sees a Dr Akil, but I don't know what his/her specialty is. I don't go to the Hallamshire so I that's as much as I can tell you. I'm sure those who attend the Hallamshire will chip in soon.

Sandra Dr Rachael Kilding also treats patients with all types of Vasculitis at the Hallamshire but she is a Rheumatologist. You could ask your GP for a referral.

The Northern General Hospital appears to provide respiratory medicine services for the Sheffield area. The Sheffield Vascular Institute is probably the place for WG specialists. Google them to get the NHS directory pages.

I can confirm that the Rheumatology Department at Hallamshire deals with vasculitis and also runs joint clinics with the Sorby Renal Unit at Northern General for people with WG. I assume there is also liaison where necessary with respiratory specialists.

Hi Sandie

I receive treatment at the RHH. Dr Akil in Rheumatology is brill. He does a joint clinic with Prof White who is a respiratory medicine physician. They liaise with other specialist consultants as necessary. The clinic is held on a Tuesday once a month. Happy to talk to you if it would help.
