I have MPA and kidney failure. Does anyone know of a good travel insurance company as I'm going to S. Ireland in August?
Try Virgin Travel, Karen-Jane. I have the same problems and they gave me a good quote last year when I visited the US for 3 months. Make sure, though, that in the questionaire that you fill in to give details of your medical conditions, that you list the kidney failure as a part of the vasculitis, rather than a separate illness (presuming it is?) or the costs sky rocket!
I believe there are several other travel insurance companies that will offer a good deal to those with medical conditions. Why not type in travel insurance in the search box here on this site? Or visit the Vasculitis UK website as that also gives details?
Enjoy your trip!

when travelling with someone with health conditions, you have to state it too, or your cover is null and void.

Hope this helps too.

Freedom ins is good for anyone with existing health problems. I';ve used them since being diagnosed with WG with Kidney damage. Actually I am currently claiming with them as I've had to cancel a holiday as I've just come out of hosp and not well enough to go on the holiday in a couple of wks time.
Hi I suggest you bring an E111 card-this entitles you to the same treatment throughout EU as you are entitled to in UK.If unfortunate enought to fall ill whilst in Ireland I suggest you get to a major public hospital such as St Vincents or St James in Dublin.--they have expertise in this area which smaller/local hospital are unlikely to have.Cork University Hosp would also be a good choice if you are down in the very south.Good luck and enjoy your stay.
