I know we have had a lot of very useful information recently about flu vaccination but I have just had my second rituximab, does anyone know how long I should wait before I have my flu vaccination?

I think you should have a word with your consultant about this. But I believe that the current advice is to have the flu (or pneumonia) jab about a month before you are given Rituximab. Studies have shown that vaccinations are ineffective up to about 6 months after Rituximab.
Hi Richard does this mean that there's no point in me having the flu jab if I am on six monthly Rituximab infusions?
Hi thanks Richard, I will have a word with consultant as yes there wouldnt be any point having the flu vaccination if it isnt going to be effective!

Hi all, regarding the flu jab, my consultant still wants me to have the jab so Rob, it may be worth talking to yours about it. My Ritux was only a month ago and they still want me to have it??
