on the news it says that help & advice is being offered to the elderly, disabled and those with chronic illness - no-one has contacted me, has anyone been contacted?
I need advice like that.

No and I don't expect I ever will they will be far to busy deciding who they should contact first by the time they decided it will be September!! Sorry feeling a little cynical must be the heat and having woken several times with the awful feeling of falling and spinning, must admit that I am having a bad week and I had already attributed it to the heat fortunately I live in a stone house so at least I can escape some of it.
No, and I don't see how they will have time? I did go to see my GP yesterday as my eyes are red and sore and weepy. After checking me over, she thinks they maybe the result of the heat and gave me some gel eye drops....that have to be kept below 25 degrees, so they are in the fridge even if I'm not! But I definitely don't enjoy the heat any more...so keeping the curtains drawn, trying to keep any activities to the evening, and settling down to reading and smocking a dress for my new granddaughter.
Anyone else finding the extra sweating a real bore?
The met office has different thresholds of temperatures for different parts of the country that corresponed to heatwave alerts ie. if you live in the south west the temperature threshold is higher than if you live in the north east.
