Today I have been to the Manor Hospital in Walsall, West Midlands to be presented with a cheque for £365 for Vasculitis UK.
Some of the apprentices at the hospital were set a task, to work together as a team and at the same time raise money for a charity. A friend of the group has vasculitis and they decided to raise funds for V-UK. To raise the money they organised a stall in the foyer of the hospital and sold cakes and cards. I saw pictures of the cakes - really yummy. Their other remit was to try to raise awareness of vasculitis.
They weren't aware that this week is the start of Vasculitis Awareness Month so they were really pleased that the presentation coincided with the start of VAM.
We had a group photo taken and there will be a report in the hospital newsletter. The group tutor will be sending the newsletter and photo to me to share in the next e-News.
I had a lovely morning and send my special thanks to everyone and also the thanks of Vasculitis UK.
