Hi Chickenlips, what are you seeing them for, is it because your kidneys are failing and you are going to look at going on the transplant list or because you are looking to donate a kidney to someone?

Hi

Well i am on transplant 2 now as 5 weeks ago i had a second cadavaric transplant as my first was beginning to fail. i was extremely lucky to get another so quick.

Sorry to hear you are feeling do ill. Have they talked dialysis and are you on medication ? what has caused your failure ? normally if it is like mine the transplant chinic is a two waything. you get to ask questions and they will ask questions to as its about assessing how you are ,how you feel,What options are open to you, explaining different types of transplant and the meds ,operation and side affects. You both have to be sure its right for you physically and mentally sure. are you going with anyone ?i would suggest taking notes whilst there.i am sure you will find it informative ..

You do need someone to talk all this over with and most transplant teams do have a Counsellor who can help you make a decision. It does sound as if you will need to go on some kind of dialysis if you do not get a kidney soon due to the side effects that you are already suffering from the kidney failure and this in itself will make you feel better. We have all been through this dilemma at one time or another and it is not easy but make the one that would best suit your life.
