Morning All,

Just a quick question...

I am a kidney transplant patient with painful arthritis.

Someone has recomended Tiger Balm....

Does anyone else use this?

Is it ok with transplant meds?

Thanks

Hi Mgt8

I hope you are getting on well with your transplant as it's been a few months now so hoping you are feeling a lot better.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with arthritis. I'm not sure about Tiger balm as it's a herbal thing and I know I asked recently about echinacea drops to help boost my immune system after getting pneumonia and taking 10 weeks to recover and im on dialysis and was told no.

I would give your transplant co-ordinator a call or can you see your transplant pharamist on your next checkup appointment.

I use Moov cream for gout flare ups and I was told that was ok, but again I would check that too as things are different after transplant. You can get it online on Ebay as I got given it when in Dubai.

Thanks Charlene,

Yes, you are right about asking. I just wondered if anyone knew.

I have googled it and it seems ok but best to check with the professionals.

Haven't heard of moov cream. Gout is pretty severe, did it help?

It did help a little with the gout, I soon as I felt a niggle I would put the cream on, my dad uses it a lot on his back.

Hopefully you get some help from tur doctor

You should never take anything like this without asking your doctor. And please don't trust what you find on random sites you have googled! Only use bona fide websites!

I use tiger balm for muscle ache and injuries a lot. Its really helps me where paracetamol doesn't do the trick.

Thanks for all your replies.

I asked my consultant and she said

'It won't do you any harm but it won't do you any good either'

Have tried it a few times and it does ease the pain a little when its really bad so will keep it on hand.
