I am 10 1/2 post kidney transplant. My meds now include Myforic. This was recently added as they try to reduce and possibly eliminate the steroids (Prednisone and Tacro). I now am experiencing extreme joint pain, especially in my fingers on both hands. I presently cannot golf because gripping the golf club is too painful. The transplant doctor told me to go to my primary care doctor. I did and after 3 sets of X-rays, swelling of the joints was noted on both hands. The transplant doctor insists on not only continuing the Myforic but has increased it to 360 mg in the AM and 360 mg in the PM. I feel horrible at times with this and muscle strain throughout my body.
Has anyone else experienced or are experiencing this ?
PS: The good part is that the steroids are being lowered with the possibility of not having to be on steroids.

Well, I asked the doctor at the clinic this morning. He checked all the side effects for the tablets I am taking and said there was nothing there that would cause this. He did however say that he would refer me for arthritis. Sorry, that wasn't much help.....🤔
PS: I received info from my primary care doctor stating that he and my transplant doctor have talked. They have agreed to reduce my Myforic back to my former level (360 mg) to see if the swelling goes down. It had been raised to 720 mg. So we will see and I will keep you informed.
PS: Interesting : My primary care doctor showed me the list that DOCTORS identifying side effects of Myforic . This list didn't show swelling of hands, face and feet as a side effect. However, when I went on-line this WAS listed as a COMMON side effect of Myforic. ??????
