Has anyone used these and were/are they effective or give any relief? If so, were they private or NHS? Thanks for any response.

Hi - Yes, I bought one called Tinni-Soothe. About £300. It does work as the brain places focus on the noise and away from the buzzing ear. I try to use it most days, and feel it was worth the purchase.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. Was this a hearing aid with white noise in addition or straight white noise generator? Thanks in advance.

A white noise generator worn round the neck .

I think our usual guidance would apply here, Ryesand1 - if tinnitus is felt to be connected with hearing loss, hearing aids are one of the best options to manage this. Behind the ear models work well for some people, although I would guess that some glasses wearers may potentially prefer different models.

hi I use white noise devices (look like a hearing aid) as a treatment plan for tinnitus and sound sensitivity. Think they are named starkey. This was via nhs, my GP referred me to an audiologist. I now have them on a maintenance program as they have really helped.
