Just passed 3 years since my tinnitus started. With the help of some CBT therapy I can deal with it for the most part. My tinnitus had spiked the last few days to an extremely loud level and I’m having a hard time dealing with it. Any advice for handling spikes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Tinnitus spike
This is my second winter with tinnitus and I'm now wondering if there is such a thing as 'winter tinnitus'. A raised level (slightly in my case) for the duration. Not such a fanciful idea as I suspect the body is not really at home with the cold, and reduced daylight.
While I'm here, you could try Ginkgo. But it's not a daily thing. Click on my username for posts on how to take it. If you do, could I ask you to report back here. Whether you experience some alleviation or no.
Thank you Ray for responding. I was thinking the same thing about "winter tinnitus". My tinnitus does seem to increase with low pressure weather systems. I checked out your post on Ginkgo. I have my annual physical in a couple of weeks and I will check with my GP on using it. I am taking a couple of other meds and want to get his OK first.
I'm convinced the compounds found in Ginkgo will be behind a breakthrough for what I would call basic grade tinnitus (at least). Poorly researched in my opinion. Questions like the effect of stomach acid on the swallowed pills remain unanswered. The leaf, when chewed, would be absorbed into the system via the mouth. I see on line many trials, but they are all the same. No apparent variation or 'proper' research into the stuff.
my way is too accept it and then focus on other thoughts
