Sofradex ear drops

Has anyone been given Sofradex antibiotic ear drops ...my husband who has severe tinnitus has been given them following a mastoid operation several weeks ago (ct scan showed damage to bones around ear drum) but since taking them his tinnitus has exacerbated so bad it's awful see him suffer. Just wondered if anyone else's tinnitus is worse after antibiotics.

mine certainy isn’t, but I’ve not had an ear infection treated with antibiotic for many years. It didn’t affect the T one way or another,

Can the doctor prescribe a different ear drop? One of the ingredients in Sofradex is ototoxic.(framycetin)

Yes I read up on Sofradex and indeed was no good for tinnitus, but the ENT consultant assured me it wouldn't affect it ! As his tinnitus was 'ballistic' in my husband Chris's words last night I have rang 111 I have a Dr ringing me. I would like to see if he has an infection or just aftermath of surgery. Thing is I've been trying to source antibiotics that do not exacerbate tinnitus and it's difficult.

Hopefully he doesn't have an infection, but surely there must be a safer alternative. Please let us know how things go.
