I Thought I’d Never Get Relief From Tinnitus

I still remember the night it all changed.

I was lying in bed, exhausted but wide awake, staring at the ceiling.

The world around me was silent—except for the relentless ringing in my ears. A high-pitched, inescapable noise that no one else could hear.

I tried everything—burying my head under a pillow, playing soft music, even holding my breath as if somehow that would make it stop.

Nothing worked.

The next morning, I searched online, desperate for answers, and my heart sank. “There’s no cure.” “You just have to live with it.” “It only gets worse.”

For weeks, I felt hopeless. Tinnitus was controlling my life—stealing my sleep, my focus, my peace.

I wondered, Will I ever enjoy silence again?

But I refused to give up.

I dove deep into research, tried different therapies, changed my habits, and slowly… things started to shift.

The noise didn’t disappear overnight, but it became manageable. I found relief.

And now, I want to help others do the same.

If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. There are ways to make tinnitus easier to live with.

That's great. Is this guidance something you are offering for free?

The way it’s written is typical of a spammer.

I would have to agree that the post here is somewhat questionable and - if I can sound like a broken record - is seemingly against Health Unlocked Ts and Cs.

If you have something to share, that's what this forum is for. If you're trying to divert people away from HU to an external site, business or service, that's against the HU user agreement.

His post is not unlike mine have been, Pat. Successfully doing something about tinnitus, at least for himself, and informing others it's worked for him. Of course, he could be about to divert people as you say, but he hasn't (yet) so do you think we might give him the benefit of doubt at this stage?

What I find odd, Ray, is not the sentiments of the post but the build up and lack of content. It would certainly be informative to find out what worked for this poster and how it might apply to other people.

I see where you are coming from, Pat, but there is a clue in the name he posts under. You wouldn't think an evangelical approach could apply to tinnitus but here we seem to be. As for content, the idea of (religious) evangelicalism is to proclaim the good news. Those who are interested are told everything they need is already around and they just have to find it. This looks to be the approach the fellow is taking here.

So how is he going to help others ? this doesn't feel quite right to me. Normally people would post what they found helped them.

Hi Grace,

I have severe pulsatile tinnitus in both ears. How can I start to habituate with this please?

I’d love to hear more about how you found relief. I’ve had T and H since July 2024. It hasn’t gotten much better since the onset. The H came 4 weeks after the T. Mine in a result of acoustic trauma. Loud noise incident, probably progressive over time and the incident was the straw that broke the camels back. I’m always open to any advice from those who’ve found success managing their symptoms.

I find this a very odd post. This is a site for people to help people. This does not help in any way. We all know that there is no cure for tinnitus unless there's an underlying cause which might be causing it temporarily, such as wax in the ear. For those of us who have had it for years and tried all the usual things (and in many cases out of desperation) the suspect things, this sounds like just one more build up to nothing. IF you're legitimate tell us what has worked for you that might work for us too .

This is very weird of that person. Is anyone watching the salicylates in their diet? That's what helped me
