Narrow ear canals

Been living with constant t for 6 months. Unknown cause. Perhaps Citalopram meds. I use to get a lot of ear infections when I was younger. I have narrow ear canals, a cotton bud could just about fit in (I know not to use them).

I wonder if having narrow ear canals contributed to this nightmare, as wax build is common.

Has anyone thought about this?

HelloI'm in the same situation regarding narrow ears channels I also had bad ear infections which I believe started my Tinnitus Which ive had now for 14years eventually having to see a ENT Consultant who took a sample of the infection Which lead to drops Which cleared the infection he did tell me to wear swimming ear plugs when I shower to stop water from getting lodged In the ear channels remember ears clean themselves ive haven't had a problem since as regards to citiropram I came of these I'm now on Amitriptyline which does help me sleep at night but if this helps with Tinnitus well it's a beast unto it's selve and still causes problems

Thank you for your reply. I'm not suppose to get water in my ears either, but i don't wear ear plugs maybe that exasperating my situation. Your tinnitus has not changed since tpu started Amitriptyline?

Well over the years I've learnt to deal with it.At night it's normally worse but I normally have a fan on during the summer during the winter I use sleeping apps there's plenty of choice the idea is too hiburnate the Tinnitus noise so the brain pushes it into the background it takes time so give it a go Amitriptyline is a antidepressant which helps me getting stressed if it works I'm not sure but at night has always been the problem during the Day I always keep busy remember a quiet Room is bad for Tinnitus it breeds on your fears.

I have always slept with a fan all year round. (One of the weird one lol) I also now have a white noise machine. It helps sometimes. Other times the t wants to get louder then sounds. Yes your right about a quiet room, you focus on it and it makes it louder.

Thank you.
