Hi Parrcj. I can't advise on meds but I understand flare ups or spikes. I'm on my third one this year . It usually happens when I'm anxious, upset or overstretched - as I have been recently. A flare up makes me stop and re - evaluate things. I go back to the drawing board and start again. I remind myself - This is a spike. It won't last forever and it doesn't. Thankfully.
I use codolmol , the audiologist and gp insist headche isnt caused by tinnitus, yes tell me about it, t is just a symptom , not a disease, anything else...then why
I always take paracetomol. It seems to be the pain-killer of choice for tinnitus sufferers, as ibuprofen and asprin can cause tinnitus (in large quantities or with prolonged use).
I use anything and everything, but not in huge amounts. I get really bad headaches every few weeks and start with 800 mg of Advil (ibuprofen) and then add 500 mg of paracetamol three hours later if needed. I don't use aspirin because I find it less effective. Apart from those days I rarely take anything.
