True. T sounds louder when there's no distraction. Have you tried any sounds at night? Things like soft music, natural sounds or fans can all help. As you get used to your T you may not need them. I pay less attention to my T at night now - even if I wake up. It's the same process day or night.

Hi I agree with you toughmathew, it actually wakes me up , screaming in my head three years on no better tried absolutely tried everything sleep music, meditation, mindfulness. I have come to the solution that nothing can be done one day I pray it will subside. Not a happy place to be considering sleeping tablets if I can get them prescribed. Days are better if I am busy, but how exhausting is that having to keep busy all day !

Have hearing aids now to mask the sound in the day when I want to watch TV or sit for a while , it actually does mask the T 😏

i was on sleeping tablets for 5 months and did not get much 'proper' sleep with these and the additives in medications can make the T worse - I take a 'small' amount of valerian if the T is really severe ( before bed) but not more than once per week as it lowers my BP and causes me breathlessness.

the valerian is a 100% natural product but u have to be careful with it and just take small amount to start with to see how u react - but it is the only thing i have found that actually can lower the T volume ( buy additive free capsule/ powder type OR pure valerian tea

u would have to check any interactions (online) with Valerian of any medications u are taking ( esp BP meds/ Anti deps etc

do u get EXERCISE / WALKS in daytime? I go for a walk every day of at least 45 mins , this means that i am tired at bedtime.

Sound therapy doesnt really help me so i dont use it a t night - it makes my T louder

Certain NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS can Help u to Sleep - try ValerianTea , but be VERY CAREFUL with it and dont take too much (as it can have some side effects)

are u saying that u dont get out for walks? Is this because there is loud traffic nearby

u have to be careful with TV and music in yr place - keep on low volume . I cant listen to music anymore as the speakers cause me a problem
