I'm interested to hear your opinions on this. Do you agree that the more sleep you get the better your tinnitus symptoms are?

Hi Marty, I would agree with that although I have always said that not getting enough sleep can make my t seem louder at times when it’s not. It’s loud 24/7 but lack of sleep definitely makes it harder to deal with.

I would very much agree with this statement. From my experience I found that if I had a bad nights sleep or just went to bed late on a regular basis this would make my tinnitus louder and more intrusive the next day for sure. Lack of sleep is a stressor for the body and would affect most peoples tinnitus in my opinion.

Cheers Darren. I personally think my tinnitus was brought on by lack of sleep in the first place when I was working nights flat out in supermarket warehouse.

could well have been as some peoples tinnitus are brought on during high stress situations

if I’m stressed I don’t sleep well and so the tinnitus becomes more prominent. But that doesn’t mean that if I sleep well the tinnitus gets better!

Hi Martymacfly ( great name) I have just had a full 9 hours, which is unheard of for me as I can’t sleep usually, and my T, right now is roaring, but then again it’s roaring even with out sleep!

It doesn’t really make any difference to my tinnitus.

Probably another related tinnitus thing that varies from person to person. I don't think my tinnitus changes depending on how much sleep I get, but maybe my attitude to it does.

Lack of sleep makes my T worse but good sleep doesn't always make it better .

For me it makes no difference to the level of T.....but obviously a good nights sleep helps you cope with things better and without stating the obvious if your alseep you not laying there listening to your T.
