Anyone faced rinning in only in one ear. constant sharp beep sound going up and down since two weeks in left ear.

Not getting NHS ENT appointment soon and I am getting worried wether it is brain related issue or ear.

The sound you hear is not real remember , it is only the brain making sense of electrical activity it the auditory system . I wouldn't worry about the specific noise much ( Mine changes all the time.. seems to be coming form various places )

2 weeks is a very short time at this stage it may just go away again or it may develop further . As a temporary measure you could use a masking sound ( I use the internet and source ..pleasant streams and what not ) to help you sleep , try not to worry and see how you feel about the idea of getting used to it over time

My guess is that it will, just go away again over weeks maybe a few months

My T started in one ear but now it's in both of them. I wouldn't worry too much. Just because it's only in one doesn't mean it's anything sinister . If you're worried you could ask your GP to fast track you. It's always worth asking.

Single-sided tinnitus isn't seen clinically as being a source of major concern - I do realise that this will not be how anyone experiencing this type of sound sees the situation.

You do have options for seeking a hearing test via some high street audiology chains, such as Boots Hearing Care or private clinics, and this may help to speed up diagnostic decisions when you do get to see a consultant. It's worth doing, as you're likely to have a hearing test anyway.

Most NHS-affiliated tests on the high street are free at point of access - if a loss is found, that's where the hard sell on devices like hearing aids might begin.

From your other thread, by the way, two months for an ENT appointment is lightning speed compared to some waits I've heard and read about.

Thanks for this information, I did a search for all 3 you mentioned. Biggest problem if any of these may only helps while you watch & listen, You might end up recording them onto a MP3 player so you can listen when away from a P,C.
