My first post in 3 years. I was diagnosed with high frequency hearing loss 3 years ago after getting high frequency tinnitus which I still have. My question for this group is - the last 2 weeks I have a low pitched intermittent hum now as well - has anyone else suffered this , and how do they cope as the distraction noise in my hearing aids is high pitched white noise which helps but does not help me with the low pitched hum.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Hi ears1011 I have high pitched tinnitus that matches a high frequency hearing loss - like you. I also have a lower pitch sound in my better ear . It took me a little while to get used to the low pitch after a number of years with only the high pitch but it eventually became part & parcel of having T . It's worse when it's new.
hi Mike - can I ask you, how are u getting along with the Hearing Aids - have these reduced the T volume at night or is that just as loud as ever ( or more)
Hi Sue, thank you for your concern, Yes the hearing aids do help but I have been told not to wear them at night for bed. this is definitely the worst time of the day, it is 30 mins to midnight and I have just removed them and the Tinnitus is screaming in both ears.
I will go to bed with my phone under the pillow not with music but Talk Radio, it is usually about 15 mins and I am a sleep. usually wake up about 5am. The worst scenario is when I wake up about 1 am then I am awake most of the night.
The best time of the day is when I am sat in my garden, there is a little traffic noise and a fresh breeze, I do not hear the Tinnitus, I remember my dad saying you are nearest to God in a garden so that is my happy place.
Hope you are coping ok, but I realise exactly how you feel.
Hi Mike , thanks for yr reply- i have been doing ok these months with a few up n downs - the T has risen over past week due to noise incidents - The NHS Tinnitus Audiologist told me the Hearing Aids eventually 'soften' the tinnitus - 'eventually ' could mean this could take a long time - maybe depends on what level of severity of T a person has . You have had HA for months now and sounds like yr T hasnt 'softened' - i hope there is improvement soon for you - all the best - Suz
Hi I have the same high pitched/frequency tinnitus and have suffered from a low frequency humming noise that strangely is worse depending on where I am sometimes room from room. Very strange. When I mentioned it to audiology they looked at me like I’m an alien.
Yes l have t for 4 years and lately l getting a hum with it to in left ear also in right ear l thought what next just coming to terms with first noise now 2 awful 😖
