I read a post earlier that said Exercise and Diet helped their tinnitus. Has anybody else had this result? I know when I exercise outside I don't notice it as much.

Good morning ,Going outside helps me in many ways . Going into the fresh air and also hearing the bird song helps my tinnitus . If I stay indoors then the atmosphere is more stifling and I feel I need to get outside . Exercise helps us all . If we are able to exercise that is . Gentle walking for me as I have arthritis in back feet and legs . I hope you sort yourself out soon .

I’m just posting to confirm what rabbits65 says. Experiencing and listening to the real world is, in my personal view, very helpful

I find if I have a lot of sugar my T can spike. Might just be a coincidence but I try and cut as much sugar out of my diet as possible. Now the weather is better I’m getting outside as much as possible and that helps as it drowns the T out more than being inside so I get less anxious about it which in turn helps to habituate the T

Hi I find too much sugar over a few days makes my tinnitus worse - weird but they do say you are what you eat

We do have some guidance on this topic on our website - tinnitus.org.uk/food-drink-.... It can sound like a cop-out, but everything in moderation is a good way to view the relationship between diet and tinnitus.

I find exercise helps my T a lot but I have pulsatile type.

As for diet I find that as I eat my T kicks in while I'm still eating like 1 -2 minutes into my meal, doesn't matter what I eat... and then usually goes away after 30 minutes to 2 hours...varies. I cant figure out what foods are worse than others, I don't think it matters. I think it may just be chewing that triggers it or something in the digestive process that gets it going. I'm trying to figure it out myself.
