Hi, sometimes I feel like my head is filling up for a few seconds. Sometimes I feel it on my right side sometimes on both sides. My tinnitus is in left ear most of the time, ocasionally is starting in right ear too for 10-20 seconds before going back to left ear. Does anyone experienced this? Thank you
Tinnitus: Hi, sometimes I feel like my head is... - Tinnitus UK
Tinnitus
One of the problems of tinnitus is that the sound varies from person to person. What you experience won’t be the same as the person next door to you.
I’d like to reassure you that T is very common. Has a doctor diagnosed you? What has he or she said?
she doesn’t say to much, just sent me to psychiatrist to ask a treatment for anxiety or depresion if it’s necessary and also she said to do a MRI, wich I did and wasn’t nothing wrong Thank you
hi - how do u mean "head filling up" - is this with sound or is it a sensation - i have a vibrating, heavy sensation sometimes when my T becomes more intense
Hi, not the sound, it’s a sensation like a pressure, a bit hard to explain the feeling. The vibrate you feel, it’s in all your body or in the head?
I get a build up of pressure too , mainly right side of head. Alright in mornings but by the afternoons and evenings I have to lay down sometimes just to relieve pressure. Not everyone is getting this, my tinnitus wouldn’t be bad at all if it wasn’t for pressure.
Yes, I have this come and go. In my case, it’s tied to allergies and stress. I’m currently seeing an acupuncturist and taking allergy meds, which helps but does not cure. I’ve had tinnitus for almost fifty years and go through periods of time where I don’t have this problem and then periods where it is very bad.
I get this sensation of my head filling up - usually when I’m in a noisy environment or talking on the telephone too long. Have you had a hearing test? Ask your GP if she will refer you to ENT. Your depression could well be caused by your tinnitus as trying to cope with it is very stressful . Although as yet there is no cure I think they could help you understand this better.
Hello and sorry that you experiencing this.
Generally my T is just in my head but occasional it feels like it’s more towards my left side and more specifically my left inner ear. Before my hearing aides it was in my head as a big heap of noise. With those and a better cleaner quality of sound input it seems different. My left ear has more hearing loss than my right and this is something I would like to discuss with my audiologist at some stage.
Keep rested and avoid as much stress but that is, as always, so much easier to type than do.
Best Graham
That sounds perfectly "normal" for me. It's a stress indicator and seems to do it's best to get my attention.
Some days can be different. I take Sertraline which has enabled me to cope.
