I have had tinnitus since 2009 and have had a few spikes over the years that have caused distress but then settled down. However 6 weeks ago I started with an outer ear infection which developed into a middle ear infection. I have ear fullness, hearing is a little muffled (was really bad but seems better). I had fluid behind my ear drum but doc says its gone now although ear drum still looks a bit dull and red i have had ear sprays and nasap sprayd, amoxacillion tabs for a week then amoxacullion clav tablets and now optomise ear spray again and nasal spray again. My tinnitus is still spiking. Anyone have any words of confort or have been through the same and their tinnitus went back to baseline?

Hi Kat. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Tinnitus is so tough. I had an outer ear infection mid January. My T got louder and eventually returned to normal. Hopefully yours will too. I wouldn't use optimize but that's only my opinion. I'm not qualified to say so. All the best.
I read on this forum that it might cause tinnitus to spike .. so I asked my GP for canesten instead. Hope your ear clears up soon. Ear infections are horrid.
Awww I hope that both our tinnitus settles soon. Thank you again for replying. Its good to hear from someone who is going through the same thing. I got very upset yesterday and was crying😥Stupid I know as it won't stop the ringing.
Hi no it's not stupid I've felt the same I'm usually very laid back about it all as I've always suffered but, this time I'm full of anxiety!! Keep in touch if you feel upset any other time x
