My sister keeps telling me to take it , she bought me some this year when I started Tinnitus . I have bad arthritis too , I really don’t know if CBD has helped me or not. People say it’s really good . All I know is , I am still suffering .

There seems to be plenty of anecdotal evidence, but I don't believe the hype. The fact that you can buy "this stuff" off-the-shelf is a reason to believe that this product is overstated. There are reasons with any medicines that we cannot just get them over-the-counter without a prescription from a high-qualified medical professional. In the case of cannabis products, they are rarely prescribed and for good reason. As for those off-the-shelf products they are allowed because the content of chemicals is so low (and even than the threshold they could start causing harm) that they are also very unlikely to have the medicinal properties that many like to claim.

I'm sure there is no harm in trying CBD but I also find it unlikely it will have any benefit. However, as I understand it is not possible to completely separate the THC from CBD (and a reason it's so highly regulated), so there is still a risk of ingesting doses of the harmful.

A really helpful reply, Dave, you are so logical! I was looking at an ad for this the other day and remembering my misspent youth .... the couple of times I smoked weed (talking about the swinging sixties) I felt a bit ill

there is nothing harmfull in it, its just a plant with lots of medical benefits, THC suffocates cancer cells in certain cancers, CBD balances your immune system...it helps me loads...you have to se it for a while to feel the full benefits

"Substantial evidence from animal research and a growing number of studies in humans indicate that marijuana exposure during development can cause long-term or possibly permanent adverse changes in the brain. Rats exposed to THC before birth, soon after birth, or during adolescence show notable problems with specific learning and memory tasks later in life"

"Bristol University scientists say the evidence is now strong enough to warrant public health messages that cannabis can increase psychotic disorders."

as the brain is at full development at 18...then use becomes safer..."USE" not abuse...and we're not rats....cant believe you're talkig your information from Gov websites, don't you want the truth?? its not psychotic "disorders" its episodes, because they get berated for using a plant that's beneficial to them, by misinformed people like you

It's clear that you disagree with Dave on this topic - whilst a healthy discourse is something we encourage, suggesting that forum users pursue cannabis derivatives which are unproven as tinnitus remedies is close to the line of what the Health Unlocked platform regards as acceptable content.

So, let's agree to disagree on this issue - My colleague Nic has posted the BTA's advice on CBD oil below.

Acutaly it was pointed out to me, to a Dr. Bearman, who had a list of uses and conditions it was useful for, tried and tested on real people

You might want to read our treatment sheet on the topic, which has considered the latest research on the topic.

This evidence shows that not only do cannabinoids not alleviate tinnitus, they can in fact make it worse (as well as other harmful side effects).
