Thanks for sharing Sean.

I also use cold water therapy to toughen myself up mentally.

I have also found that allowing the shower water( highest pressure possible) to massage the back of my head for a few minutes, and following that up with gargling for a minute, can result in my T being lowered or even gone, for the whole day!

This step can be done with water of any temperature.

Doesn't work every time, but when it does it's a blessing.

All the best on your way to recovery.

It’s great to see some positive posts about addressing tinnitus. The only way to deal with this is through a positive outlook.

I am selective with what I read on this forum as there is so much negativity.

Tinnitus isn’t nice, but there are lots of worse things to deal with. I believe my tinnitus was brought on due to spending time in loud night clubs. Ironically my hearing is really good and well within normal ranges. Maybe I have some hidden hearing loss, but i am thankful for my good hearing.

My tinnitus has been with me for possibly 10 years and it never really bothered me. It however got worse after having failed micro suction in one ear following an ear blockage about 9 months ago.

The question which I can’t get my head around is has the tinnitus got worse / louder, or is it just my perception of the tinnitus being worse, following an ear blockage and being so switched onto my ears.

I try and view tinnitus as like having to deal with a wasp. The more you try and swat it, the worse it gets. For me there is a correlation between stress and sleep deprivation, making the T seem worse. When I am calm and relatively unstressed, the t always seems more manageable.

My aim is to try and think about the T less and less. When it first kicked off after the micro suction I was consumed by it. Keeping busy at work and active outside of work, certainly helps. I hope with time, it will return to the base level before my micro suction disaster which triggered this episode.
