Hi, it sounds like you took very sensible precautions so don’t beat yourself up. Try to not focus on the T and keep background noise around you at all times. I was advised by my audiologist that the more you “listen” to your T and the more anxious you feel about it then the more prominent it will seem, even if technically you haven’t made it worse and it sounds like you protected your ears really well the other day. I am using in ear devices during the day to mimic my T, with the idea being to desensitise my brain to it, it is not a cheap treatment as I had to go private via the Tinnitus Clinic in London, but something you might want to look at (which I also use overnight) is an app called “Starkey Relax” on the App Store, it does a similar thing (although it won’t be as tailored), by playing noise overnight and you can program it to find the correct frequency for your T, with some white noise mixed in so it doesn’t become too annoying. The only thing is that you don’t want to use in ear headphones while you sleep, so you might want to just sleep near your phone speaker or find some “sleep phones”, which are basically like a headband with speaker pads in them.

I hope this is of some use, try not to worry.

God bless, John.
