Has anyone used Ativan or Valium to calm tinnitus down?

I have used Valium in the past, and for years on and off for acute debitating anxiety. As I believe that anxiety, stress , the fight / flight response make T symptoms worse and in some cases, cause them, it would make sense that valium/Diazepam could lessen the symptoms. This would be very short term though and the risk of addiction or dependence is high and the side effects can be unpleasant. Withdrawal, horrific. So I would seek other ways of true relaxation such as mindfulness/meditation, body based therapies such as craniosacral therapy or reflexology. Once you learn how to truly relax, the brain will do more than any drug can x

Yes 2mgs at a time, but only very occassionally. It helped
