Oestrogen cream

Hi could I ask if anyone of a mature age like myself has used oestrogen cream and did it make tinnitus worse. I may have to use this but worried if it will make T worse. Sorry if I am embarrassing anyone but google doesn’t have any answers and GP will be useless. Thank you 😊

Hi, I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure the cream will not affect your .T, drink lots of water.

Dont know about the cream but Ive read a number of forum posts and blog things where ladies have complained HRT has increased their T....sorry its not more helpful.

We've recently had a number of questions about tinnitus and menopause. We do know that tinnitus can be sensitive to change - physical or to moods - and menopause is a time of change. Equally, managing change and the stresses it brings can help tinnitus.

So, with my logical but not medical hat on, I'd say if the cream is helping other symptoms, it'll probably help the tinnitus too. There's no evidence to back this up, by the way. I've looked at the research and there's a total of 3 papers on tinnitus and the menopause out there. If it's bothering you, then a chat to your pharmacist might help as they are the experts on medications and their interactions, and they might be able to suggest an alternative to try.
