CBT

Hi Hazyfan. I've not tried it seriously myself although I have read up on it. I believe there are a few here on the BTA forum who have tried it though so hopefully you will hear from someone with first hand experience. I thinks it's one of those therapies that some find helpful and others not so much. I would say that if it helps you have a positive outlook and to be a glass half full sort of person rather than a glass half empty one then that can only help you in dealing with your T.

As John says, anything which will help you focus on the good bits and focus away from the bad bits like T, the better. My experience with T taught me that and I suppose I am now grateful for the experience despite having gone through the panic stages.
I actually had some ‘normal’ counselling at that time to deal with life issues and anxiety. I do think the changes in my life made a huge improvement. It’s almost as if the T was a warning signal.
We live in a very stressful world which is full of man made pressure! Sometimes tackling the cause is better than trying to make the symptom disappear.
Once we start to decrease the anxiety, the T begins to subside. When we start to experience longer and longer quieter spells, we start to build confidence in the healing process. This results in a positive feedback loop which gets us to where we want to be.
