u could use the OTO app specifically for Tinnitus CBT therapy - £20 per month
Hi Toughmathew,
For many CBT can be very useful regarding of the persons understanding the actual medical condition that you have. In my experience the 2 CBT sessions I’ve had were with people that did not really understand T. They were still useful and you don’t know what you could get out of these sessions without trying them first hand.
Personally I think CBT for T is going to be hard to find in the NHS. Private maybe but I don’t have the resources to go that route to know.
Hope that makes sense.
Best G
when i did CBT the lady specialised in tinnitus sufferers and i found it useful. i would think it makes a difference.
would you be comfortable sharing the name of the tinnitus CBT specialist please? They are thin on the ground so always useful to know.
Hi bournvile, I spoke to loraine this morning and she is happy for me to share her details on this forum. Will someone please let me know if recommending a service is not allowed on the forums.
Her email is lorainemacdonald@icloud.com

Good luck.
I’m starting my CBT tomorrow. Been waiting about 11 months for the appointment. It’s free with Xyla digital therapies. You have the option of doing a video call or just normal phone call. It was arranged through my local well-being service. (Norfolk).
Yes. They need to accept you teaching them about tinnitus first. I'm cbt trained at PG level and hate the approach!
