> hi- I am new to this forum. I have had pulsatile tinnitus for about a year. It seems to be directly affected by the position of my head. If i sit or lie in one position for too long the pulsating will start but if I then drop my head forward onto my chest the noise will recede or disappear. Has anyone else experienced this? I have some osteo arthritis in my neck so it sort of makes sense but ENT sort of dismissed it,

positional pulsatile
Hi bett60, my tinnitus is sometimes in time with my pulse, mainly when I am lying down. Otherwise it is hissing or a ringing hiss. Have you had an MRI or CT scan to see if anything can be seen to explain your pulsatile T? Angela xx
Yay bett60, I can relate to what you're saying although I don't have pulsatile T but many times when the T starts in my hearing ear and I turn my head sharply to the left it totally stops! It doesn't work all the time and I'm sure the experts, if I saw any would say it's purely coincidence which it may well be but having a prolapsed disc at the base of my skull with narrowing of the spinal canal it may well be more than coincidence?
Best wishes
Xene
I have hi pitched whistling T in one ear. When I put my head on one side towards my neck, it gets louder. There seems to be many twists and turns with T. Sometimes it just has a life of it's own.
Wishing you well.
