I wrote a blog a while ago about having diagnosis of ovarian neoplasm ( tumor) on my right ovary.
It was a distressing to find out and it is very distressing to deal with it on the top of thyroid problems.
I have found some doctor who could deal with my problem ( gynecological oncologist).
GP agreed to do appt. booking through NHS Choose and Book.
Unfortunately this good doctor whom I suppose to see became ill and is on long term sick leave now. It is another obstacle to overcome.
It was very hard for me to find somebody recommended and when I found the person he is off sick. I am speechless and exhausted, truly....
I am wondering if anyone have someone that can recommend that they have seen?
I am still looking. I left questions on other forums but so far no recommendations.
I have done the internet search of course and there is plenty of doctors out there but as the matter is very serious I need to see somebody who knows their job well.
Is there an end to these problems.???...
I need good gynecological oncologist ( one that deals with potential and diagnosed ovarian cancers)
Please let me know if you know somebody good.
Thank you.
Best wishes to all.
ps . I am sorry if I made typin errors, I am writing this but I am very exhausted.
Edysia I'm sorry you have yet another problem to deal with, I don't know of any Dr I will try search on net for you if you want. Has it been diagnosed as cancerous or benign cyst ?
I'm asking as I was diagnosed with a ovarian cyst yrs ago, it was benign thank goodness, I didn't know thereay be connection to thyroid. I had a few scans over the years if I get pain in my ovary that I still have, as my mum had the same , hers was cancerous she had op treatment that was 20yrs ago, she's still fitter than me, at 85.
Thank you twinks. I am glad that you and your mum are ok now. My growth is not cyst is a solid mass( fibroma) and I live in fear every day. Things are not going ok for me
Thank you for your offer. I have searched the internet and I have a couple of suggestions from ovacome forum.
Love

Hi Edysia,
There should be a good oncology unit at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital, I know the old one was very good.
The gynaecology dept at Leicester General hospital is very good in my experience, I use this hospital for my bladder. All the staff there are wonderful, and the clinics are not overbooked like in Brum!
I'm hoping you'll find someone you can trust.
Thinking of you Edysia, I hope everything goes well for you. XXX

I hope you get to see a real expert who you can also get on with! You deserve the best. XXX
Hi Edysia - I had a check on the NHS Choose and Book system and you can pull up St George's in Tooting and the Royal Marsden in Fulham both of which he works out of - I didn't go any further on the system but give the hospitals a ring and speak to his secretary and see what's possible.
what part of which country are you in Edysia---if near north wales-bangor hospital-german dr.- female -excellent gyno surgeon dr.Rieck-worth traveling to. all the best- ps. remember iodine, selenium, iron, and adrenal support-not to mention full body support with quality supplements..
I live in East Midlands sky00. Thank you for replying to me. I will try London doctors first. I am a bit far from Wales However if I have no luck here i will contact dr Rieck.
excellent-- she operated--total radical hyster-with endo-cancer,caught really early & i couldn't have had better care and expertise and the staff at bangor hospital --on that ward are the best of the best.. not one iota of problems afterwards either--was such the skill of the surgeon.. whatever route you decide to take i wish you all the best.. sky
I had a cancerous ovary removed by an ordinary gyno quite successfully. I refused the recommended chemo & was told I had a max of 5 years to live. That was in 1993. Now 20 years on I am still well, but can tell you why you got the ovarian trouble - an ovarian cyst secretes thyroxin, so your body is trying to do its best for you! If you have the ovary removed and find the right source for you of some kind of thyroxin, all should be well. Good luck!
Thank you wildgoose. Ovarian growths can secrete thyroxine ( eg stroma ovari ). This awful hypothyroidism is accountable for a lot of health problems. I am really scared and tired. I am hoping that this is benign but still it is a lot to go through if I need surgery now. I am not stable in terms of my thyroid treatment so my body is very weak.
I am really happy for you. I am glad that you managed to recover and that you are well.
It was my gyno surgeon who told me an ovarian cyst secretes thyroxine. Presume he knew what he was talking about. I had noticed I was suffering less with low thyroid symptoms whilst I had it, which seemed to him quite logical.
I had one strange after my complete hysterectomy 3 month later my level was reduced I wondered how cos I started hrt and all literature showed I'd prob need a levo increase!!!! By way l was only on 75mcgs kevo it was reduced to 50mcgs, I had my thyroid out a few year before hyster by the way, no one ever mentioned the cyst could do this either, it was only me collapsing the cyst was found! After years of complaining of pain etc!
Hi Edysia if the tumour is considered potentially cancerous then you must be seen within 2 weeks, government guidelines state potential cancers must be seen within 2 weeks by a specialist. If your doctor has not arranged a 2 week wait referral it can only
Be because its not suspected cancer. Hope this helps. A friend of mine with Cervical cancer had excellent quick diagnosis and surgery at the homerton hospital.
I was reading about your problem and it occurred to me that medigo.com might be useful to you....? I was using the sight a few days ago to look for a gynecological procedure myself. I did a quick search for ovarian tumor removal and got this: medigo.com/en/gynecology/ov...
