I spotted this literally the other day, along with some similar info and I'd love to latch on to the theory that the body has down-regulated, needs to rest, adrenals nourished and recover, that would be amazing, it further reiterates the need for us all to have answers, that aren't forthcoming. 21st century and unknown.

So I am presently going with the theory in general and thinking try some gentle adjustments to try to assist the adrenals, but I should also say, everyone must try two channels, maybe balance the nutritional and conventional and read constantly, to understand what to look for, so that one doesn't depend purely on one theory. Everyone is different and as it isn't clear that any one particular thing helps all, I guess we are all muddling through together.

As stated before, I am not an easy patient and I am anti-med, as far as can be and this may not be a good option for anyone. I am in turnmoil, I know for a fact there is no auto immune trend in the family on my direct side, cousins, yes. I know for a fact I had prolonged stress levels for years and poor diet for quite a while and now my problem is realising, that my condition could likely be for life and may not be reversible...hmmm, 18 months since diagnosed and feel awful, although after the first six months (on stopping work) I did improve, without medication, but remain hypo with T4 just back in range and TSH too high, but it came down from 77 to 8 all by itself, with rest and some slight diet change, so I was hopeful it was adrenal, but antibodies cropped up, so that put a spanner in my hopefulness, lol. Unless the antibodies can be ridded as well, for which I rely upon taking the odd brazil nuts?

I so resent there not being a simple permanent cure, yet in my lack of knowledge, the body ought to be able to heal itself, given the right ingredients etc......oh despair, ha ha ;)

It's a well written piece - wish it has been around in the 90s. Ha ha too!!

It's a pity he doesn't go on to discuss how adrenal recovery may be achieved, and what the pitfalls are....
