Wanting in depth hormone testing in preparation for NDT. Dr Alyssa Burns-Hill best person for this?

.....when I was struggling a bit last summer I did contact her and received very supportive e-mails. When I cancelled our telephone appointment - a very pleasant e-mail arrived. Says a great deal about someone. I like her website too. Am surprised that more people on this forum have not contacted her for a consultation. Would be most interested to hear your opinions if you decide to consult with her. Good Luck !...........

I haven't hear dof this lady - she obviousy follows the holistic and natural approach but I do also see that she is very new to the web at least so maybe nothing much has filtered through yet.

I think you will find her in Directory at the top iof the page. She once commented on one of my posts well over a year ago ! Have you read Paul Robinson's site rwt3.com - I expect you have as you are on T3 only.

Hi I cannot comment on her as know nothing about her. However a good endo does deal with all this and more. Like everything ,you do need to choose carefully.

Thanks for your comments so far. Dr. Alyssa Burns-Hill is an advisor to Thyroid UK and her details can be found in their information pack. I hadn't heard of her before I received the pack so I had a look around her website. However good your endocrinologist is I struggle to get him to do any tests he feels are not needed, which obviously comes down to cost to the nhs at the end of the day. The lab won't even do a t3 screen if my GP has requested bloods, only if the endocrinologist requests them (and I am medicated with t3!). My hormones have been out of whack it seems since my teens (specifically my adrenals have had it) but until I made the decision to become more knowledgeable about my hypothyroidism over the last year because I was fed up of feeling ill I wasn't aware of the affect of hormones on cell metabolism. I am seriously considering NDT and want the hormone issue sorted first as I don't want to waste any more time and money but hopefully if the hormones are rebalanced, maybe t4 and t3 will be able to do their job more effectively rather than making the switch? I am due to see my endo in a couple of weeks so will bend his ear about the hormone testing... watch this space!
